Dover Christ Church Academy is proud to offer a comprehensive holistic level 3 qualification for our post 16 students in the form of The International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme. IBCP enables you to choose a career-related course that is most suited to you and the ‘core’ curriculum enables you to create an educational pathway that puts a strong focus on your individual needs. The IBCP allows you to combine academic and vocational subjects with a focus on your chosen career. The core programme of the IB enables you to achieve an internationally recognised qualification that broadens access to your chosen pathway. This unique IB Core programme, focuses on developing students in Personal and Professional Skills, language development, service learning project and a reflective project.Advice and guidance continues to be supported when entering Post 16. We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of specialist advisors, who provide ongoing information to our students, with the support they need with regards to, raising their aspirations, challenging their thinking and guiding them along the path to a chosen career or higher education. Alongside this, you will also have, on a personal basis support from your tutor and the KS5 Manager. In an ever changing climate of work, it is very important to allow students to gain experience within specific working environments. Within our Post 16 offer, specific subject have work placements built into their study programs to allow you to gain confidence and experience of the world of work.
We at Dover Christ Church Academy are working hard to increase the number of students, who wish to consider higher education as their next educational journey. We take our student to the UCAS university fair, where over a hundred universities offer support and guidance. We are also very proud of our association with Canterbury Christ Church and Kent University. Who support us by offering various subject specific educational days, this allows our students the opportunity to gather information and also sample, the daily life of a university student. Students who wish to go on to higher education are supported through the entire application process, from the preparation of their personal statement to the selection of the University of their Choice.
